The Zuckerberg Goon squad gangstered up and killed Facebook likes….
Well in a way sorta kinda but not so much. They just made it harder for you to get them. In a recent update to their algorithms, the goon squad decided to wreak havoc on like baiters, spammers, and the likes (no pun intended)
Anyway the powers that be decided to either listen to their users as they claim and beef up their bank bait and stop some stuff. Check out my video about it:
Not sure if you’re visual aka wanting to watch my cute face explain this stuff, but if you’re not here’s the low down:
No Like Baiting:
According to Facebook, Like-baiting” is when a post explicitly asks News Feed readers to like, comment or share the post in order to get additional distribution beyond what the post would normally receive.
So stop putting calls to action to get Facebook Likes & Shares. Sucks but just beef up your content and you’ll be fine. Don’t know how to do that? C’meme lemme coach you. I’ve got the goods on it.
No Repeat Content Posting:
You know those viral videos that show up on your newsfeed a thousand times? Yeah, they will ding you for that too. Facebook doesn’t like that either, here’s what they are doing about it, We are improving News Feed to de-emphasize these Pages, and our early testing shows that this change causes people to hide 10% fewer stories from Pages overall.
So basically………STOP. Find other ways to engage your audience. I can help you out with that one too. Post on Facebook so your audience can’t get enough of you. You won’t have to worry about asking for Facebook Likes or reposting a bunch of viral videos.
As a matter of fact, read about My Damn Facebook Posts here.
No Spammer Links Either:
Yeah, when you post a link guys, please let the link be to where you say it is. Don’t be a social spammer. Facebook doesn’t like that and neither does the world. If you’re posting a video or anything else and you add a link to your post then PLEASE make sure the link is what you say it is. I may snitch on your myself if I click a link thinking I’m going to an article or picture or something and I get taken to a squeeze page or page full of advertisements. No No…
So how does Facebook’s new changes affect you and your fan page? I mean Facebook Likes & Shares is the name of the game for good cheap marketing and viral exposure right? Well here’s what Facebook says about it:
The vast majority of publishers on Facebook are not posting feed spam so they should not be negatively impacted by these changes, and, if anything, may see a very small increase in News Feed distribution.
A smaller set of publishers who are frequently and intentionally creating feed spam will see their distribution decrease over the next few months. We’re making these changes to ensure that feed spam content does not drown out the content that people really want to see on Facebook from the friends and Pages they care about.
I think you should read the whole article yourself. It’s read worthy. Here it is right here.
Moral of the story: Facebook is cracking down on shitty posts. Get your game tight. Get your Facebook Likes like a boss.
